xLink Data Acquisition
Aegis has always been on the leading edge of the industry in software technology, and never has it been more ahead of its competitors than it is today. Aegis understands that the software technology of enterprise software systems is often confusing to many customers, and this compels many to overlook the issue in their evaluations. Unfortunately, the quality of how a system is built often dictates the quality of what it can do—especially in the long term. We invite you to explore why Aegis’ competitors are always announcing the development of a ‘new’ technology several years after Aegis already deployed it to the field.
- + xLink Data Acquisition
xLink is a standards-based data acquisition software technology that operates automatically and out of view to gather real-time data from equipment, PLC’s, & measurement devices. It empowers other software tools such as line monitors, quality systems, tracking systems, etc. xLink adapts to any machine and creates a web service for managing the communication of IPC CAMX machine messages to any software system wishing to electronically subscribe to these messages. By making every machine identical from a communications standpoint, the data logged by each machine during operation is made available to other software systems in an open, reliable, and uniform manner. This data is then used for an unlimited range of purposes.
- + Most Widely Adopted
xLink is already adapted to the great majority of machines in the marketplace. ‘Out of Box’ adapters are available for literally hundreds of makes and models of inspection, test, assembly, and process equipment. Adapters also exist for process monitoring systems such as thermal profilers and ‘bookend’ equipment like on-placers and laser markers.
- + Proven and Reliable
xLink has 8 years of field installations and use in the most demanding data acquisition applications such as defense and aerospace test data acquisition. Its design has been perfected for fault tolerance and robust operation in the most varied IT topology, network condition, and load scenarios imaginable.
- + Standards Based
xLink utilizes the CAMX standard for its data content. As a result, customers often write their own integrations and this is typically done with custom functional test integration to xLink. The use of a standard greatly simplifies deployment and forward evolution.
- + Machine Vendor Cooperation
Machine vendors change their data sources and protocols frequently. Fortunately for Aegis customers, their vendor is partnered with most of the machine manufacturers. By working collaboratively with the machine vendors such changes are known to Aegis before release, and accommodations are made before the customer is ever affected.
