Support FAQ

I ONLY NEED TO PROGRAM MY MACHINES AND MAYBE GENERATE VISUAL AIDS. CAN I BUY JUST WHAT I NEED?

Yes. Aegis is highly modular. You can begin with a machine programming module today, add advanced BOM management in a month, and add the full MES system next year--with zero data migration problems or lost investment.

CAN AEGIS HELP ME COMPLY WITH
TRACEABILITY REQUIREMENTS?

Yes. Aegis typically exceeds the scope and depth of the requirements for traceability as of this writing. The system is architected in such a way to make integration and support of future requirements simple as well.

WHY ISN'T  LINE-LEVEL OR MACHINE
VENDOR TRACEABILITY ADEQUATE?

The traceability requirements demanded by Aegis customers in the military, medical, and automotive markets each day consider data from beyond the assembly line as critical to overall traceability reporting. Things such as the inspection and test loops, final integration, packout, and all measurement data streams from production machines such as ovens and printers. These data types cannot be delivered with a line-level solution.

DOES AEGIS NEED PROPRIETARY HARDWARE TO ACHIEVE MACHINE MONITORING?

No. Through Aegis' partnerships with the machine vendors it has developed noninvasive software technologies to achieve what was once only possible with high-risk, costly, and non-forward-compatible hardware integration.

CAN AEGIS HELP IN HAZARDOUS MATERIALS
TRACKING AND CONTROL?

Yes. Aegis can be deployed in a way to track all materials and associate them to each unit for declaration purposes. It can also be used to preclude improper setups of materials in the process.

LEAN IS A GREAT CONCEPT, CAN AEGIS HELP ME IMPLEMENT IT?

Yes. In the words of a world-class Aegis customer 'Aegis helps a manufacturer be more disciplined'. The introduction of the larger scale systems actually keeps operators from making mistakes that can cause waste. It reveals metrics engineers can use to actually improve processes in an informed manner. It's automated analytical capabilities take the operational overhead out of reporting and reactions on the lines. Finally, its materials management and optimization systems reduce changeover and setup downtime.
