MULTI-TIER MICROSOFT .NET AND XML WEB SERVICES

The functions and data of the FUSION iServer is accessed entirely through a vast layer of XML Web Services, of the Microsoft .net type. All services and objects are stateless, enabling unlimited distribution of computing load across servers. These XML web services allow third-party integrators to access system functionality and data in a completely safe, web-based, and secure manner, without accessing the database directly.

MAXIMUM SCALABILITY AND AVAILABILITY

Aegis multi-tier design and fully stateless business logic layer enables infinite vertical and lateral scalability. Through a variety of server farm options, customers may choose to assign certain logic to specific servers, or cluster all servers for automatic fail-over benefits. Aegis' architecture enables infinite control of system latency regardless of load and eliminating downtime even during physical server failures.

xLink Transmitters, when connected to machines and other real-time factory data sources, eliminate data loss and ensure sequencing integrity of events even after long periods of network downtime. DATABASE FLEXIBILITY

Aegis supports both SQL Server and Oracle databases. Aegis also maintains a porting utility for customers choosing to migrate from one platform to another over time. The utility creates the schema and transfers the data automatically for a rapid migration in either direction.

SIMPLE OBJECT ACCESS PROTOCOL (SOAP)

The web-centric design of Aegis products utilizes SOAP, a type of XML supporting distributed computing over the web. This technology standardizes the transmission of data and functional commands to the Aegis information platform over the web. This standardization allows third-party integration to the platform at a very sophisticated level. It is an important element of the state-of-the-art distributed architecture of the Aegis system.

LICENSED TO INCLUDE MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER (IE)

As a supplier of web-centric software systems employing the most advanced architecture supported by Microsoft, Aegis was granted the right to pass licenses to end-users as incorporated into Aegis' own installation systems, simplifying installation and ensuring the proper system components are available for use.

LICENSE CONTROL

Aegis license control systems are centralized and license management is “floating” to simplify administration. An integrated web portal to the license server enables administrators to view and configure options owned, and license utilization. Sophisticated layers of fault-tolerance ensure continued service during network failures and license control hardware failure.

LANGUAGE MANAGEMENT

All Aegis products and data structures are multi-lingual compatible, including the extended Asian character sets. The technology eliminates multiple versions of software for different languages. A single code base switches between languages based on the regional settings of the PC on which the product is used.
