Aegis, MD Europe to Present at InnovationsForum in Böblingen, Germany

Manufacturing Plant

Dr. Friedrich W. Nolting, Managing Director of Aegis Software in Germany will present a paper entitled “Controlled process flow even for small lot sizes – How can the NPI team meet these challenges?” at the fourth annual InnovationsForum on March 10th in Böblingen, Germany.

The event is hosted by EPP Magazine and EMSNow and this year’s theme is centered on low volume and high mix manufacturing and all that entails in terms of agility and flexibility whilst maintaining high levels of quality and performance.  The event is in the German language and is expected to attract more than three hundred professionals from the electronics manufacturing sector.

Demand in Germany means manufacturers have to be agile and efficient whilst performing to the high standards the market expects.

Dr. Nolting will be describing how to achieve a truly flexible manufacturing environment through complete digital data management of design data, revision control, work instructions, bill of materials and shipping, whilst also monitoring revisions and technical adjustments.  Also applying this solution during planning leads to quality improvements, reduces engineering and management overheads and achieves reliable repeatable manufacturing processes.  Only a holistic data- and document-management approach, including version control and change management will achieve all these benefits.

Dr. Nolting’s presentation follows the keynote presented by Dipl.-Ing. Thorsten Amann, Senior Advisor, Staufen.AG whose presentation is entitled “Maximum flexibility and best quality as a competitive advantage – electronics manufacturing in Germany expected to set the standards”.  Dr. Nolting commented, “Demand in Germany means manufacturers have to be agile and efficient whilst performing to the high standards the market expects.  This means factory floor control has to be able to adapt to the fast moving world we find ourselves operating in, while maintaining complete traceability and providing the best possible data interfaces for each stakeholder in the process, be they customer, scheduler, engineer or operator.”
