AEGIS ANNOUNCES TECHNOLOGY AGREEMENT WITH SIEMENS
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Aegis Industrial Software Corporation,
developer of the CircuitCAM FUSION CIM software system, announces a
technology integration agreement with Siemens Dematic Electronic
Assembly Systems, Inc.
Aegis CAD data importers are now embedded within the new Siemens SIPLACE
Pro machine management and programming software. This technology
integration provides automatic placement program generation for SIPLACE
customers via the robust and proven CAD interpreters used across all
Aegis products. The state-of-the-art design platform of both SIPLACE Pro
and Aegis software enabled this seamless integration. SIPLACE Pro users
benefit from a single software interface, rather than separate
applications, which has been the tradition with third-party CIM
solutions.
Seamless software integration for SMT manufacturing has been Siemens'
approach for the past several years. Robert Huber, Manager Global
Software Product Management, Siemens Dematic EAS said, "Collaboration
with partners such as Aegis, who is a market leader, confirms our
continuing effort for open systems on the factory floor. Our customers
ultimately receive the benefit since they get best-in-class components

This agreement represents a significant advance in CAD/CIM integration
