AEGIS INTRODUCES iVIEW SOFTWARE FOR WEB-BASED
DOCUMENT CONTROL

introduces iView software, part of their Enterprise Productivity
Solutions that provide visibility of manufacturing information on the
factory floor and beyond. Using the power of the Internet, iView
provides intelligent, interactive paperless documentation on the factory
floor, including assembly instructions, inspection guidance, and
pre-production checklists.
iView by Aegis provides a searchable archive of production information
and possesses the knowledge of what information should be displayed to
whom at any given point in production. With this system, factory floor
viewers present the appropriate information to the operator, restrict
improper revision access automatically, and provide detailed BOM and AVL
information, all graphically. Factory viewers know what has been done to
the assembly up to the present point, and therefore only present
applicable data. Additional information includes video and audio
assistance, sequence of events instructions, and even an electronic
suggestion communication channel back to the project originator to
assist continuous process improvement. As a result, there is a dramatic
increase in product quality because operators possess more and better
assembly and inspection information in interactive, multi-media formats.
