NEW AEGIS EUROPEAN SUBSIDIARY RECORDS HEALTHY GROWTH IN FIRST 6 MONTHS

Cheltenham, UK – Earlier this year Aegis Industrial Software Corporation, the leader in manufacturing productivity software systems for global electronics assemblers, announced the formation of a European subsidiary, Aegis Industrial Software (Europe) Limited which is headquartered in the UK. Since trading began, Aegis Europe has grown the existing European customer base by 25% with significant new business coming from electronics manufacturing companies, including Bosch, Celestica, Dage, Plexus and Raytheon.

The European operations are headed by Barrie Upton, managing and operations director, and Peter Clegg, European business development director. Both directors, with many years experience in the European electronics design and manufacturing market, have proven track records in bringing US software and hardware companies to Europe and rapidly establishing them as market leaders. Heading up customer support is Christian Teasdel, who brings more than four years’ experience in Aegis software and extensive knowledge of assembly machines and processes.

Commenting on Aegis’ successful start to working directly in Europe, Peter Clegg said, “We have adopted both a direct and multi-tiered indirect business model to grow our existing user base in Europe, supported by an expanding network of experienced value-added resellers (VARS) and European-based machine vendor partnerships. We are already establishing Aegis as the vendor of choice for manufacturing productivity systems, and are actively looking for additional representation in several European regions, including Germany, France, Hungary and Poland.”

“This expansion is part of the Aegis business strategy to extend its North American leadership into Europe and Asia with strong regional sales and support operations. Aegis is offering a truly cost effective modular solution focusing initially on new product introduction. This includes data validation, process-to-asset mapping, routing, documentation creation and paperless delivery using web browsers. Aegis also offers manufacturing execution solutions covering shop floor engineering, process engineering, limit setting with alarms, real-time quality collection and analysis, and real time monitoring,” said Jason Spera, CEO at Aegis.

“These products answer the world-class manufacturing data management needs of the European market. Manufacturers are no longer willing or able to hire specialized staff, redesign their processes or spend many man-months implementing solutions. They want easy to use, scaleable web-based system solutions to integrate into their current structure utilizing current assets,” Jason continued.

“In Europe we are seeing a great interest in our NPI solutions. Customers are always looking for successful ways in which to optimize all the business and process intelligence that exists in most factories, in order to launch new products quickly, set up lines correctly, continuously improve quality and view/access all of this in real-time,” stated Peter. “Product genealogy and traceability are also becoming important issues for lead-free manufacturing in Europe.”
