AEGIS EXTENDS NPI LEADERSHIP WITH THE LAUNCH OF
TESTXCELL FOR ELECTRICAL TEST
Anaheim CA, APEX 2005 – Aegis Industrial Software, the leader in
Manufacturing Information Management Systems for global electronics
assemblers, has announced its new electrical test program generation
product, called TestXcell. TestXcell, derived from Digitaltest’s C-Link,
has a proven history and market acceptance with over 900 users
worldwide. An OEM agreement between Digitaltest GmbH, Herbert Schmidt
GmbH and Aegis Inc. allows Aegis to deliver an unrivalled best-in-class
NPI suite, handling BOM and CAD import and compare, SMT line
programming, documentation creation and now electrical test program
generation.
Jason Spera, CEO at Aegis, said “An increasing number of customers were
asking Aegis to add ET into our portfolio. ET is a specialized
discipline so when we heard about C-Link from Herbert Schmidt we
immediately started discussions and I am really pleased with the result.
The engineering philosophies and strategies between our companies were
synergistic from the very beginning. This alignment manifested itself
through a strikingly similar, look and feel and general product
constructs, it is difficult to tell them apart. With a dedicated 20
person R&D team we can expect rapid support and development of new
functionality according to our roadmap for TestXcell. We already have
application engineer support available to us in the US, and in Europe
our application specialist, Peter Bongartz, is a veteran test expert.”
“Grant Boctor, president at Digitaltest commented, “I am very happy to
have Aegis as a global reseller of our test software, with their large
installed base, over 550 sites world-wide, we believe it will not be too
long before TestXcell is established as the ET market leader.
TestXcell’s heritage is built upon a mature product developed over 12
years to support the most demanding test markets and with a
comprehensive list of supported machines, as well as over 50 CAD
inputs.”
Herbert Schmidt GmbH is the international marketing arm for
Digitaltest’s C-Link, headed by Herbert Schmidt, president and the
ex-owner of Fabmaster, who knows a thing-or-two about test and the
global test market. “The combination of Aegis market-leading machine
programming and documentation tools, now with TestXcell, will provide
users with unrivalled performance benefits all from a single source. My
company’s aim is to support Aegis and its global customers to gain
maximum benefit from TestXcell. The expertise within our R&D team will
provide continuous product development to meet and exceed market
requirements,” quoted Herbert Schmidt.
