Systems Deployment Engineer

Job Description

Aegis Software is seeking talented Deployment Engineers to join our team for the continued expansion of the company’s Manufacturing Execution Software (MES).

As a Deployment Engineer, you will be responsible for the successful installation, configuration, and training of our software. This work includes travel to customer sites throughout Europe.

Duties and General Responsibilities :

• Install, configure, implement, and support Aegis MES and Aegis V7 software and hardware solutions remotely as well as traveling to customer sites
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% onsite and 25% remote each month
• Contribute to product documentation
• Carry out product training for our customers
• Submit articles for inclusion in knowledge base
• Take part in QA efforts as required
• Alert European Deployment Manager and Services VP of product, process, or personnel issues observed in the field or the office
• Formally propose initiatives for continuous improvement
• Support the helpdesk, if required between deployment activities

Detailed Responsibilities: Prepare for upcoming deployment activities by:

• Working with project manager to submit onsite agendas at least three weeks prior to visits
• Working with customer is importing high-runner products and develop production processes prior to initial training
• Providing consulting to customers for best practices, solutions, and alternative methods to operate effectively and efficiently
• Ensuring that you have adequate time in the office between visits to adequately prepare, and close out actions from previous visits
• Testing any new customizations, xLink adapters, or integrations two weeks prior to visits – thereby leaving time for Engineering to address issues
• Requesting Services or Engineering backup two weeks in advance of trip if implementing new/risky items
• Submitting daily reports to global Services groups when doing onsite work, including:
  • Goals from agenda
  • Critical issues encountered / Lessons learned / problems solved
  • Document issues in CRM and report critical issues through proper support channels and processes
  • Work with project manager to focus deployment efforts on meeting deliverables specified in SOW and tracked in CRM – in order to drive projects to formal signoff and completion
  • Identify and escalate any customer satisfaction problems to European Deployment Manager

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Fluent German speaker or equivalent verbal and written communication skills
• Capable of communicating verbally and in writing in English
• ERP systems knowledge a plus
• Previous experience as a Software Trainer or Deployment Engineer
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft products, including MS Office and client/server operating systems
• Basic understanding of MSSQL database syntax and management (intermediate or exert level skills a plus)
